I made cake for the cast and crew of Guys and Dolls - our choreography director (Lance Perkins) asked for some a few weeks ago, so I brought some to our first dress rehearsal. I wanted to put roses and the whole shebang, but ran out of time.
I did photoshop it a bit to fix where my two year old stuck her fingers in the side just before I had to leave.
I heard a variety of comments about it, some of which were negative, but they were demolished. At the end of the night the cake board remained with some crumbs, and two guys sneaked out with the last pieces.
Haha no - I was actually glad to hear the critique. Most people didn't know it was me who brought it in, so they weren't shy about saying exactly what they thought. In general, it went over really well, but there were a few people who didn't like this or that. And one of the girls who told me she didn't like the combination asked me to bring cake again, because there was no food backstage and everyone gets hungry after being there for six hours!
6 hours, for three days... Did you make cakes for each day? If you all were surviving on just cake, I wouldn't be surprised if someone went hyper! Oh, I just realised - that was great publicity for your cakes!

No, I only brought cake for our dress rehearsal. I thought about one for opening night, but realized that everyone would be running around freaking out and I didn't want to get in the way. A couple of the women helping brought candy or snacks to share the other nights.

If you were superstitious, I guess you could see the success of the your cake as a good omen?
